Adam James Country Music

Once in a while an artist appears from out of nowhere and captures your imagination and heart with their passionate and heartfelt songs. Adam James is one of those artists.

Adam James is a young Indigenous Australian from the Moreton Bay area of Australia. Adam grew up listening to the popular country artists of the time on the family record player and he developed a love for the likes of Johnny Cash, Rodney Crowell, Elvis and Jimmy Buffet while idolizing fellow Indigenous singer/songwriters including Kev Carmody, Archie Roach and Troy Cassar-Daley.

As a teenager, Adam dabbled in acting with roles in Network 10's hit television show "Medivac", ABC's "Wayne Manifesto" and a theatre production for the Brisbane Festival called "The Dreamers". After completing his Creative Industries degree at QUT in 2003 Adam realised that music was his calling. Playing guitar for over 12 years Adam has been developing his vocals under the watchful eye of renowned vocal coach, Venetta Fields – who is best known for her work with John Farnham,

In October 2007 AJ released his debut titled album "Messages & Memories", comprising of 8 outstanding contemporary country songs, which are honest and full of character. The first single released was the hauntingly beautiful "Many Who Pretend" and in mid 2008 Adam followed up with another release titled ‘The Country Singer'. It was this single that received national airplay moving through a number of charts on both community and commercial radio stations earning him Best New Talent 2008 at the Deadly Awards and a solid nomination for the 2008 Australian Male Independent Country Music Rising Star Award.

Adam is currently in the production stages of his next album, 'Doorways' due for release Spring 2009.
